to & fro

Zach and I have been trying to take advantage of the last warm and sunny days... He's a good buddy for walking up to the mailbox with me. I can usually bring my camera along and get some pretty pictures while we sweetly saunter...

Aunt Ruth had a birthday this month. We were so glad to celebrate with her.

Asher

It's startin' to be that time of year... the critters are 'adjusting' to hay. I say 'adjusting' because they still see green grass, and would rather get out of their safe and cozy pasture to eat the neighbor's yard rather than eat the yummy hay we provide.
Don't they know that this is, of all seasons, a time to be grateful? :)

I found a little traveler on Aliyah...

Baby Sheeps & Buggy Buds

"...He has made everything beautiful in its time..." Ecclesiastes 3:11a
Fall is one of our favorite seasons. Cooler weather, beautiful colors, happy sheeps, getting gardens ready for a long winter's nap...

Digory is just like his papa. The stable makes an excellent scratchin' post...

The Unsteady Six. Mama's three newest lambs in the background. Annabelle's babies in front.
All a little suspicious of the crazy camera lady...
Meanwhile, Eva, Eustace, Ezzy, & Edie are all clamoring at my knees for cuddles, ear scratchin's, and treats.
and trying to eat the camera.

Eustace is trying to explain to Evie that the camera is 'not so scary.' 'in fact, it's rather tasty.'
...as I'm trying to wipe his slobber off my uber expensive lense...

Saving Birds & Shawl Knitting

It's always something new around here... Chaos was trying to eat this little one through the tayberry netting in the garden. Poor little dove had wandered into a seeming paradise, discovered it was berry-less and realized he was trapped. I've never held a dove before. His poor heart was all a flutter, and I'm sure that he was terrified of us, 'unwinged'-large-bird-eating-monsters that we are.

After Farm Days, a lady asked me to make a shawl for a family member for a Christmas gift.
So, I dyed some handspun Elijah, and began to cast on stitches...

A Good WoolFest

We had a great time at the 2014 Wool Festival this past weekend. We had beautiful weather, except for when we didn't. The wind was a little scary there for a bit on Friday... Other than that the weekend was very pleasant. It was so much fun to see all of our fiber buddies again. It was great being next to our friends in the Wool Tent and have friends to talk to and visit with during the slow points. For the most part, we didn't get in very much visiting because it was so very busy ALL three days!
ewefluffyewe had a great weekend, for which we're thankful. We sold out of pumpkin hats. We never seem to have enough of those. Mama took over the spinning for me on Sunday. I just couldn't sit still much longer... Papa loved helping fetch good food for all the vendors. Keeping everyone happy with full bellies helps when you're away from home.
There was fluff, music, yum-yums, peeps, and well everything a girl could want, but it's still nice to be home.

while sheep safely graze

The sun is always so pretty right after dinner these days. Days are starting to get shorter. A sign that fall is nearly here, and winter will soon follow.

Cora loves these 'picture visits.' She's a bit of a camera "hog," for a sheep that is.
Clara, on the other hand, is quite sheepish about these visits. Every time I manage to get the camera in focus on her beautiful face, she up and turns around. Thus, I have multiple 'Clara butt pictures' to delete.
This one I kept, because she does have pretty curls, even on her back end. :)

Dodge never wanders too far from his mama, Annabelle.
My sweet Aliyah, basking in warm sunshine.

It looks like some sheep have been here...

It's so fun to take pictures of Cora. She stands there pretty patiently, nibbling on bits of green grass.

Cora lashes.

A wee sheep grin...you just can't help but grin too.
